How to start this whole about thing? The main purpose of it was going to be to explain why this site is called bl00dnu7.net, but I guess I should probably introduce myself along the way. Maybe the explanation will flow from the introduction. I may possibly have had a look at Mark's about page to give me some ideas, but I will stop short of copying it verbatim.
My name is Luuk Paulussen and like Mark, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. If you have a read of my blog, you'll get a fairly good idea of what I'm like - my online personality anyway... There are always going to be things left out when publishing stuff for all the world to see. The blog also helps to keep family and friends, in Christchurch and around New Zealand and around the world, including Scotland up to date with what's going on in my life.
Myself, I am 23 years of age, and was originally born in the Netherlands. Having been here over 17 years has given me two rugby teams to support - Waikato and anyone playing Canterbury, oh, and the All blacks, so I guess that makes three..., a multitude of Australian jokes, and a sense of awareness that only comes to you when you're writing stuff like this at 6:40pm. Being from the Netherlands, I also have a soccer team to support, which doesn't really happen in New Zealand.
By day I work as a Test Engineer, for a respectable network company. By night I roam the internet, a rogue vigilante who lives on little sleep, a lot of fun, and a healthy taste for Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Nope, flag the last sentence, it's really just not me. I actually like to go to bed reasonably early, although that doesn't really happen very often, and even less so since I got this website, although I do like the occasional ginger beer. As I said before, have a look at my blog to find out more about me.
Now I'll attempt to answer that burning question.. Why is this site called bl00dnu7.net? Well, once upon a time, there was a boy called Luuk and he watched a movie called Shrek. At one point in the movie, a certain piece of dialogue took place.... Something like this:
However, due to the style at the time, well due to a mockery of the style at the time and for uniqueness, Luuk felt the need to make the name a little bit more, how shall we put it... 1337 H4x0ri5h, by replacing some of the letters with numbers. Having taken this step, there was no turning back and he also named his blog after it, and then went even further and bought the domain name, and that, Ladies and Gentlemen is how it came to be that this site is here for you to visit today.
And that's all I have to say about that.

The only ogre who ever spat across three wheatfields.Now, around that same time, young Luuk may have had a slight, completely undeserved, reputation for pretty much the same thing old Blood-Nut was famous for, although definitely without the stench, so he found this exchange quite funny and thought that maybe Blood-Nut would make quite a good nickname for the purposes of online gaming. It had everything, subtle movie reference, sounded intimidatingly blood thirsty - a convenient side effect.
DONKEY: Right. Hey can you tell my future from these stars?
SHREK: Well, the stars don't tell the future, donkey, they tell stories. Look, there's Blood-Nut, the Flatulent. You can guess what he's famous for.
DONKEY: Alright, now I know you're making this up.
SHREK: No, look. There he is, and there's the group of hunters running away from his stench.
DONKEY: Man, that ain't nothing but a bunch of little dots.
SHREK: You know, donkey, sometimes things are more than they appear. Mmm? Forget it.
