I think part of the reason why I haven’t posted much in the last week is that I decided to buy a playstation. However, as I haven’t actually played it that much, it’s kind of hard to use that as an excuse. I have spent a fair bit of time on Trademe though, looking at second-hand games. I did a little too well at this and am now up to a total of 18 games once they all arive… I’ll add a list at the end of the post for those of you who may be interested. Some of them I bought in a set with others, so I may sell them individually if I don’t like them.
On Friday last week I went into town to Anna’s farewell party, which was at Iconic. I actually had quite a lot of fun, although when I arrived there was pretty much noone I knew there. On Saturday I cranked out some washing, washed my car, oiled my bike chain – although now my gears are behaving strangely and generally enjoyed the awesome sunny weather.
On Saturday I went to the rugby with Mark, Amal, Andy and Mess, confident that Waikato would reclaim their Ranfurly Shield. Unfortunately my cowbell broke relatively early on in the piece and from that point on they were like sheep without a shepherd – or is that a cow without a cowbell, or just doomed. Anyway, I think Canterbury got a little lucky, but I do owe Mess a Double Cheeseburger meal at some point. I once again learn my lesson about the folly of gambling. :p After the game we came back to my place to watch the election results, which was made more digestible with some cheese, crackers, wine and chips. We also played a little bit of Tekken 5 ,which I’d bought earlier in the day, just to break it in…
Sunday was also a bit of a lazy one, played a fair bit of halflife and drank banana milkshakes. Also went to Spreydon Baptist in the evening and saw Luke and Ferg getting baptised. Then back home again for more cheese and crackers and wine – I think I’m getting quite cultured… Also at church they asked a few people what they thought of when they thought of Love, and one girl said she loved Cheese, which I may have cheered at. I think Merodie was quite glad we weren’t sitting at the front 🙂
Monday morning I awoke to snow everywhere. It was still snowing, and I decided it would be a good idea to bike to work… They actually closed all the schools in Christchurch, and the university and stopped the buses and a number of companies closed. A number of people who lived further away or on hills went home from work early, and I managed to get 12/10 for trying, eventually going home at about 3pm. I arrived home to a big pot of mulled wine and a movie (Finding Neverland) which I hadn’t seen, but did enjoy. Then later in the evening I enjoyed rewatching Sahara. Excellent light-hearted entertainment action movie.
Oh, I saw this igloo on the way to work – the following day I think. Today was an awesome sunny day again, so pretty much all the snow is gone. I’m really looking forward to summer, where pretty much every weekend will be warm and sunny. I love warm sunny weekends. Warm sunny weekdays seem kind of a waste when I work inside all day.
Well, that should just about do… List of games to follow as promised.
